The Right Accessories Make All the Difference

An IBC tote out of the box is a versatile liquid storage container. Add the right accessories and it becomes a precision tool for your specific application. The correct valve adapter turns a storage tank into a dispensing station. A heater blanket means your operation does not shut down when Minneapolis temperatures drop below freezing. A spill pallet keeps you in compliance with EPA secondary containment regulations.

We stock all of the accessories below at our Minneapolis facility. Most items are available for same-day pickup. For specialized or bulk accessory orders, contact us and we will have your items ready within one to three business days.

Valves & Fittings

2" Ball Valve

Quarter-turn ball valve for clean, positive shut-off. The ball mechanism provides a full-bore opening when open and a complete seal when closed. Best for applications where you need to stop and start flow frequently, connect to hoses, or feed a pump. Polypropylene body is chemically resistant to most liquids stored in IBC totes.

Common Uses

Hose connections, pump feeds, precise flow control, frequent on/off cycling.

2" Butterfly Valve

Lever-operated butterfly valve that comes standard on many IBC totes. The disc rotates 90 degrees to open or close. Offers good flow rates for gravity-feed applications and is easy to operate with one hand. The flat profile takes up minimal space beneath the tote.

Common Uses

Gravity dispensing, high-flow applications, viscous liquids like syrups and oils.

Cam Lock Adapters

Quick-connect cam lock (camlock) fittings that attach to the standard 2-inch IBC outlet. Available in Type A, B, C, D, E, and F configurations. Made from polypropylene or stainless steel. Allows rapid connection and disconnection of hoses without tools.

Common Uses

Dual-line feeding, irrigation manifolds, parallel process supply.

Caps & Lids

6" Screw Cap (150mm)

Standard replacement fill cap for the top opening of an IBC tote. Features a molded gasket for airtight and watertight seal. Available in vented and non-vented versions. Vented caps include a pressure-relief valve that prevents vacuum lock during dispensing.

Common Uses

Replacement for damaged or missing caps, upgrading to vented version.

6" Screw Cap with Pour Spout

Modified fill cap with an integrated pour spout and secondary cap. Allows you to pour small quantities from the top without removing the main cap. The spout has its own threaded cap to prevent spillage during storage.

Common Uses

Small-quantity dispensing, sampling, adding additives without full cap removal.

Sealed Blanking Cap

Heavy-duty cap designed for permanent or long-term sealing of the fill opening. Double-gasket design provides maximum sealing pressure. Used when the tote will be transported or stored for extended periods and the fill opening does not need regular access.

Common Uses

Long-term storage, transport sealing, hazardous material containment.

Temperature Control

IBC Heater Blanket

Wraparound electric heating blanket sized to fit standard 275-gallon and 330-gallon IBC totes. Thermostatically controlled with adjustable temperature settings typically ranging from 40 degrees F to 160 degrees F. Prevents freezing in cold climates and maintains viscosity for thick liquids. Insulated outer layer minimizes heat loss and energy consumption.

Common Uses

Freeze protection in Minnesota winters, warming viscous products like honey or oils, maintaining consistent temperature for chemical processes.

Insulation Jacket

Quilted insulation wrap that fits over the IBC cage and bottle. Made from closed-cell foam sandwiched between durable fabric shells. Installation Guides

Most IBC tote accessories are designed for simple installation without specialized tools. Here are step-by-step instructions for installing the five most popular accessories we sell.

Installing a Replacement Ball Valve

  1. 1.Ensure the IBC tote is completely drained and the existing valve is in the closed position.
  2. 2.Place a bucket or drip pan beneath the valve outlet to catch any residual liquid.
  3. 3.Grip the valve body firmly with one hand. With your other hand, turn the retaining collar counter-clockwise. On most models, this is a large plastic ring that threads onto the tote outlet.
  4. 4.Once the collar is fully loosened, pull the old valve assembly straight out from the tote outlet. The gasket may stick; gently wiggle the valve to free it.
  5. 5.Inspect the tote outlet threads for damage, debris, or old gasket material. Clean the threads with a rag.
  6. 6.Place the new gasket (included with the new valve) onto the tote outlet, ensuring it seats evenly in the gasket groove.
  7. 7.Insert the new ball valve into the outlet, aligning the valve body with the retaining collar threads.
  8. 8.Hand-tighten the retaining collar clockwise until snug. Do not use tools, as over-tightening can crack the plastic threads or deform the gasket.
  9. 9.Open and close the valve several times to verify smooth operation. Fill the tote with a small amount of water and check for drips at the connection point.

Installing a Cam Lock Adapter

  1. 1.Ensure the valve is closed and the tote is not pressurized.
  2. 2.If your IBC has a butterfly valve, remove the lever handle temporarily to provide clearance for the adapter.
  3. 3.Thread the cam lock adapter onto the valve outlet. Most cam lock adapters have a standard 2-inch BSP or S60x6 female thread that screws directly onto the valve outlet nipple.
  4. 4.Hand-tighten the adapter until the gasket compresses evenly. A quarter-turn past hand-tight is typically sufficient.
  5. 5.Reattach the butterfly valve lever if it was removed.
  6. 6.Connect your cam lock hose fitting to the adapter. Pull the cam arms outward, insert the male fitting, and snap the cam arms back into the locked position.
  7. 7.Open the valve slowly and check all connections for leaks. Tighten the adapter slightly if any dripping occurs at the thread connection.

Installing a Heater Blanket

  1. 1.Unpack the heater blanket and lay it flat to identify the top, bottom, and valve cutout.
  2. 2.Position the blanket around the IBC tote with the valve cutout aligned with the discharge valve. The blanket should wrap fully around all four sides of the bottle.
  3. 3.Secure the blanket using the built-in straps or hook-and-loop fasteners. Start at the top and work down, ensuring the blanket sits flush against the bottle surface with no air gaps.
  4. 4.Route the power cord to your electrical outlet. Most heater blankets use a standard 120V grounded plug. Ensure the outlet is GFCI-protected for outdoor installations.
  5. 5.Set the thermostat to your desired temperature. For freeze protection, 40-45 degrees F is sufficient. For viscosity management, set to the temperature recommended for your specific product.
  6. 6.Plug in the blanket and allow 2-4 hours for the tote contents to reach the set temperature. The thermostat will cycle the heating elements on and off automatically to maintain temperature.
  7. 7.For maximum efficiency, add an insulation jacket over the heater blanket and an insulated lid pad on top of the tote.

Installing a UV-Resistant Dust Cover

  1. 1.Remove any items from the top of the IBC tote, including loose caps, tools, and debris.
  2. 2.Unfold the dust cover and identify the top panel and the four side panels. The elasticized edge goes at the bottom.
  3. 3.Drape the cover over the top of the IBC tote, centering it so the side panels hang evenly on all four sides.
  4. 4.Pull each side panel down over the cage. The cover should extend at least two-thirds of the way down the cage sides.
  5. 5.Tuck the elasticized bottom edge under the lowest cage bar or around the pallet base to secure it against wind.
  6. 6.If the cover has tie-down grommets, use bungee cords or zip ties to secure it to the cage bars for high-wind locations.
  7. 7.To access the fill cap, lift just the top panel of the cover. Most covers have a slit or flap over the cap area for easy access without removing the entire cover.

Installing a Fill Cap Gasket

  1. 1.Unscrew and remove the 6-inch fill cap from the top of the IBC tote.
  2. 2.Flip the cap over and locate the existing gasket seated in the circular groove on the underside of the cap.
  3. 3.Pry the old gasket out of the groove using your fingers or a flat-blade screwdriver. If the gasket has hardened and adhered to the groove, gently work around the circumference to free it.
  4. 4.Clean the gasket groove thoroughly, removing any debris, hardened gasket material, or residue. A damp cloth works well for this.
  5. 5.Take the new gasket and press it into the groove, starting at one point and working around the circumference. The gasket should sit flat and even in the groove without bunching or overlapping.
  6. 6.Screw the cap back onto the tote, turning clockwise until hand-tight. The new gasket should compress evenly, creating a uniform seal.
  7. 7.Verify the seal by pressing down on the cap and checking that it does not rock or lift at any point around its circumference.
